CARDIAC REHABILITATION & CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH
Specialist Exercise for Cardiovascular Health
Exercise informed by specialist cardiac rehabilitation education.
Jessica Kreimeyer provides individualised, rehabilitation-informed exercise for clients with cardiovascular health considerations, drawing on specialist education in cardiac rehabilitation and cardiovascular health.
Her specialist education includes the HEARTe programme through Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, covering the cardiovascular pathway from healthy heart and investigations through prevention, coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndromes, cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure.
Combined with professional exercise and exercise referral qualifications, this provides a strong foundation for developing appropriate individual exercise programmes.
SPECIALIST CARDIAC EDUCATION
HEARTe 1–6
Jessica has completed the HEARTe 1–6 programme, covering:
- Healthy heart and investigations
- Primary prevention of heart and cardiovascular disease
- Stable coronary artery disease
- Acute coronary syndromes
- Cardiac rehabilitation
- Heart failure
This specialist education supports Jessica’s understanding of how exercise may need to be considered for clients with different cardiovascular histories and requirements.
AN INDIVIDUAL APPROACH TO EXERCISE
Programmes built around the person.
Cardiovascular health can affect people in very different ways. Exercise programmes therefore need to reflect the individual’s current abilities, exercise history, goals and any relevant professional guidance.
Sessions may focus on:
- Building or maintaining physical capacity
- Cardiovascular fitness
- Strength and conditioning
- Mobility and movement
- Functional fitness and exercise confidence
- Gradual progression of physical activity
- Maintaining independence and long-term exercise habits
The programme is adapted to the individual rather than following a standard template.
CARDIAC REHABILITATION-INFORMED EXERCISE
Exercise support within a wider professional approach.
For clients who have experienced a cardiac event or who have an existing cardiovascular condition, exercise may form part of a wider programme of professional care.
Where appropriate, Jessica can work alongside a client’s existing healthcare professionals and take relevant professional guidance into account when developing and progressing exercise.
Body Brokers provides exercise and rehabilitation-informed support and does not replace medical diagnosis, medical treatment or cardiac healthcare.
WHO MAY BENEFIT?
Suitability is always individual.
Individual exercise support may be appropriate for clients who:
- Are returning to exercise following a cardiac event
- Have completed or are progressing beyond formal cardiac rehabilitation
- Have an established cardiovascular condition
- Want to improve their general cardiovascular fitness
- Need a more individual approach to exercise
- Want support progressing exercise within appropriate professional guidance
- Are looking to maintain strength, fitness and physical capacity
Suitability is considered on an individual basis.
EXERCISE REFERRAL & CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH
A considered foundation for exercise.
Jessica is a CIMSPA Exercise Referral Associate, with formal exercise referral qualifications alongside her specialist cardiovascular education. This combination supports a considered approach to exercise for clients whose health history needs to be taken into account when planning physical activity.
