LOWER BACK PAIN & MOVEMENT

Exercise for Lower Back Pain in London

Specialist exercise support for strength, movement, mobility and confidence

Jessica Kreimeyer provides individualised exercise support for people living with ongoing, recurrent or persistent lower back pain, as well as those looking to return to exercise following a period of back problems.

Her approach is informed by specialist education in exercise for lower back pain, including a VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Exercise for Management of Low Back Pain, alongside wider qualifications in exercise referral and specialist exercise.

The focus is on helping each client move with greater confidence, develop appropriate strength and mobility, and build physical capacity through an exercise programme adapted to individual circumstances.

A MORE INDIVIDUAL APPROACH

Movement and confidence develop differently for everyone.

Lower back pain can affect movement, strength, confidence and everyday activity in very different ways. Rather than following a standard programme, Jessica considers each client’s current movement and physical capacity, exercise history, strength and mobility, current limitations and goals, confidence with movement, previous back problems and ability to progress gradually.

Exercise can then be adapted as the client’s strength, movement and confidence develop.

LEVEL 4 SPECIALIST EDUCATION

A recognised foundation for lower back pain exercise.

Jessica holds a VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Exercise for Management of Low Back Pain.

This specialist qualification, achieved on 22 April 2021, forms an important part of her approach. It sits alongside CIMSPA Exercise Referral qualifications and current Exercise Referral Associate status.

EXERCISE FOR LOWER BACK PAIN

No one-size-fits-all routine.

Depending on the individual, sessions may incorporate:

  • Strength development
  • Mobility and movement
  • Core and functional strength
  • Postural awareness
  • General conditioning and functional movement
  • Gradual return to exercise
  • Building physical confidence
  • Progressive exercise appropriate to the individual

The programme is reviewed and adapted as the client progresses.

WHO MAY BENEFIT?

Support for returning to movement and exercise.

This approach may be appropriate for people who experience ongoing or recurrent lower back pain, have become less active because of back problems, want to return to exercise, feel less confident with movement, want to improve strength and physical capacity, or prefer individual one-to-one support rather than a general gym programme.

Where a client is already working with a healthcare professional, Jessica can work alongside existing professional guidance where appropriate.

EXERCISE REFERRAL & SPECIALIST EXERCISE

Consider the person, not simply the presenting problem.

Jessica’s CIMSPA Exercise Referral qualification and Exercise Referral Associate status complement specialist education in lower back pain. Wider education also includes stroke, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiovascular health, sciatica and cognitive health.

This broader experience allows exercise to be considered in the context of the individual.
